Aluminized Heat Barrier	Kevlar™ Heat barrier

This flexible high-temperature material is an excellent choice for any application that can benefit from a plyable, cloth-like heat barrier that can reflect up to 90% of radiant heat. The highly reflective metallic surface of the material is capable of withstanding radiant temperatures up to 2000° F and direct contact heat of up to 400° F. NEW! Need even more protection from heat? ThermoTec's new Kevlar™ Heat Barrier takes this great product a step further. By incorporating both Kevlar and Mylar, this version can withstand up to 3000° F of radiant head and can withstand direct contact up to 1100° F!

The product can be installed using standard rivets with a backup washer or weather strip adhesive. The use of clamps or straps such as Thermo-Tec's Snap Strap can be used to hold the blanket in place for applications on manifolds or exhaust system. In applications such as a heat shield on the undercarriage above the exhaust the material should be held in place by fasteners as described above.

When used as a heat shield, the barrier is installed so the bright metallic surface faces the heat source. When used to retain heat in applications such as exhaust manifolds, the barrier is installed with the fabric side facing the heat. This allows the metallic surface to act as a barrier to prevent the penetration of liquids.
